looking for a new game?

It’s called Cyberdunk!!! Sign up is free!! You go in, create an account, pick a name for your very own basketball player, pick his abilities and position, and you own a basketball player. Once you have signed up, you can put yourself into a “draft” where you can be picked up by any of the hundreds of teams in the world!! You train your player, sign contracts where u get paid everyday, choose how the player plays, win awards, trophies and have people fighting over you to sign u!!!! I admit I was a bit confused at first on what to do once I signed up, but with a little bit of searching, reading and help from the team I was contracted to, I am improving my player everyday thru training. I have even played in 2 “1 on 1 tournaments already. Haven’t had much success but it is an experience. And I will tell you, it’s addicting!! I am constantly going back to check on my players training, seeing where I can improve, looking for ways to increase skills quickly, and trying to figure out setup stategies for playing in tournaments. They have a forum, www.talkdep.com where you can find out about problems/bugs, contracts, announcements, contests, games, music, jokes, etc, and even a pub, where I saw the last entry was about girls!! lol… Their search engine is http://www.focusdep.com/ …. find quotes, articles, biographies, pictures, and for users, info for your blog, etc.

Talkdep is where the answers are...

Just a few days back when I created my player, I was having much trouble drafting myself into a team. I’m talking from the Cyberdunk world here (If you don’t know what I’m talking about, just read my previous post.). It was really frustrating now because it is already like the second or third day that I was trying to get myself into a team. Then I click on the forum link in the Cyberdunk menu. It brought me to this site called Talkdep. Well it was the forum solely dedicated to Cyberdunk. I was surprised with the number of topics posted in the site. Then I saw a transfer/contract subforum there. I created a thread about my rookie player there and hope some team manager picks me up. I asked for the lowest salary possible and just a good signing bonus btw. And then poof, just a few minutes of waiting I received a private message of an interested manager. He says he’ll be glad to help me develop into a great player. I quickly approved the contract he offered me and so far its been great. I got really lucky because there are so many other players there with higher value than me still without a team. I feel I’ll be having a good career all thanks to that forum.
So if ever you are playing Cyberdunk and is in need of help, just Talkdep!

Cyberdunk Guide For Dummies (10 Steps for Beginners)

This might help some guys here who have just started playing Cyberdunk:

Congratulations on joining Cyberdunk, the best basketball MMORPG in the internet today. As a practical guide to newbies like you, i have listed 10 basic steps for you to follow. Here are my suggestions:

1. Stay with the computer team for the time being. Don't rush joining a human-owned team if your value is not yet that high. Why? Because chances are, the human team manager would not offer you a higher salary and signing bonus. More importantly, once you have signed with a human manager, transferring to another team will be more difficult since your current manager now has the say on whether he will allow you to leave the team. For the time being, train, train and train. I assume that you don't have enough money yet, so use the 1 day, $60 dollar trainings.

2. Once you have reached a value of 19, then go to the forums, and try to sell yourself. Im sure several offers will come your way. Here are things to look out for:Contract period: Look for a 1 season contract onlySigning bonus: When i was valued 19, i got a 35k signing bonusSalary: I got an 800 salaryWinning bonus: i got 200 winning bonusPrice Tag: should be very low (around 2500)

Contract negotiation depends on the following factors:

a)It depends on how well you sell yourself. Posting your stats ain't good enough for some human managers. You have to convince yourself that you will be an active member of their team. If they have a team forum, you also have to convince them that you will actively participate in the team discussions.

b)Team need - If a team is in dire need of a good Center, they tend to overpay a bit just to get their man.

c)Market demand and supply - Since the game is just in its inception stage, market demand and supply changes rapidly. Time will come that a human owner will only get players with value of 25 and up. Of course it also depends on whether the admins will create more teams or if more humans buy their own teams. Again, its a combination of supply and demand. Simple

3. Choose a team that has a team forum (my team, the south east rollers/dogs, has a very active team forum where we get to discuss tactics, development plan and everything under the sun). Check out our team forums - http://www.talkdep.com/forumdisplay.php?f=315 I am currently valued at 23.15 but as you can see, im still with their developmental team. Hopefully, i can crack the main team next season. You should have similar goals i believe.

4. Since you have 35k in signing bonus, start betting. For great tips, visit this thread - http://www.talkdep.com/showthread.php?t=12236I started with 35k, now i have almost a million to spend. Their bet advices would usually focus on the underdogs, where a 35k bet will give you a payout of 150k

5. You can also play 1 on 1 during free days. A 250k would surely be a big bonus for you

6. Now that you have enough money, start to train like crazy. The best training would be those $20,000/3 days/+5 skills trainings. Make sure to schedule your training properly, such that you can train a +5 skill twice on every available skill. (e.g. if you currently have 15 confidence, a 20k training on confidence will result to raising your confidence to 20, which means that you can still put another 20k on confidence training, since the min/max level for that particular training is 10/20.

7. Once you achieved a minimum of 20 on all skills, i suggest you put emphasis on certain skills. For Centers, its obviously, shotblocking, rebounding, strength, inside shooting. For shooters, speed, 3 point shooting, floor shooting and some bit of confidence is needed.

8. Before i forget, invest in some equipment. For starters, items like grandma's favorite and metal talad gives you great value for money. +15 in skill for 5,600 is already a bargain.

9. As far as tactics are concerned, there is no clear cut rule on this. Its always good to set your play intensity to hard but at the beginning, playing hard will surely drain your stamina which will surely affect your next game. Playing "extended" time will also have an effect on your stamina. Lastly, as far as playstyle is concerned, playing ballhog will give you a chance to score more points, but you are prone to miss a lot of shots, especially if your related skills (e.g. confidence, shooting) are not high. Stamina is also affected.

10. Lastly, visit the forums regularly. You will gain lots of knowledge by reading posts of fellow cyberdunkers. Enjoy the game and i hope this helps.

How the game is played

Over the past few weeks things have started changing around cyberdunk. With the new changes coming into effect at the end of this season things will start to be more competitive. The advantage is to those players that have been around longer because of the new betting structure but that doesn't mean you can't still make money off of the new system. Basically you need to make sure that the bets you make are smart bets. We will not be able to find as many 4.7 odds but most likely we will be searchign for the 3.2 and lower bets. This is still a good return on your money. With the max bet set at 35k you are still about to double your money each betting day. For players starting out this will seem like alot but for those of us who have been around for a while this will seem like pennies. Right now the majority of us are finding games with 4.0 or greater odds. That means that any given day we are making over 100k. With this it makes training very easy to afford and also decreases the amount of time it takes to get the best non-custom equipment. For those of us who do decide to buy the custom equipment we are still going to be paying the same and getting the same results. My suggestion is to keep doing what your doing for now but be careful after the end of the season.
As for the team owners things are going to have to change on their part as well. Those contracts with the zero salary will have to be changed in order to compensate for the change in the bettign structure. Right now they are debating a minimum salary accross the board in order to force owners to pay their current players enough to continue to train and also but their equipment. The one major thing that will help the owners pay their players this much is going to be the change in the stadiums and their ticket prices. The owners are going to have a better chance to make a lot more money off of their ticket prices and this in return will help them pay thier players. I belive in the end the owners are still goin to be the ones making the most money.
I for one thing this is a great thing for the game and can't wait for the changes to go into effect.
